GETTING STARTED
From Zero to Your First Camera Report
Follow these four steps in order. Step two—adding Camkeeper to your home screen—is especially important on set: full-screen access, quick launch and offline functionality.
1. Create Your Account in the App
Registration comes first: your license is linked to your user account, so you’ll need to sign up before requesting one.
Open the app in the browser on the device you’ll use on set.
Sign up with your email address and confirm your account.
Use the same email address when requesting your license so we can link it to your account.
2. Install the App on Your Device
Camkeeper is a Progressive Web App (PWA). You don’t need to download it from the App Store or Google Play. Instead, install it directly from your browser by following the steps below. This lets you use Camkeeper in full-screen mode and work offline.
iPhone & iPad
- 1. Open pwa.camkeeper.app in Safari. Other browsers on iOS may not support the installation process correctly.
- 2. Tap the three-dot menu, then select Share (the square with an upward arrow).
- 3. Select Add to Home Screen.
- 4. Confirm the name and tap Add. Always launch Camkeeper from the home screen icon.
Android
- 1. Open pwa.camkeeper.app in Chrome.
- 2. Tap the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.
- 3.Select Add to Home Screen or Install App.
- 4. Confirm and always open Camkeeper from the new icon on your home screen.
Don’t use Camkeeper from a regular browser tab. Always launch it from the installed home screen icon. Otherwise, your data may not be saved or synced correctly.
3. Request a License
If you’re new to Camkeeper, request a free trial license. Once you receive your license code, enter it in the Licenses section of the app to activate your project.
If you’ve used Camkeeper before, choose the license that best suits the duration of your shoot.
Remember: each active camera in a production requires its own license.
4. Set Up and Use Camkeeper
Set up your project with your production details, fill out camera reports, create and edit slates, and export your data. Learn how with these short video tutorials.
You can invite other crew members with read-only access so they can view the project in real time without editing camera reports.
Your DIT can also export CSV files independently, whenever needed, at no additional cost.
